Detailed Description: |
Recombinant RatIFN-gamma is a single non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 135 aminoacids and having a molecular weight of 15,609Da. The sequence of the firstfive N-terminal amino acids was determined to be Met-Gln-Gly-Tyr-Leu.Contains less than 1;Produced by lymphocytes activated by specific antigens or mitogens. IFN-gamma, in addition to having antiviral activity, has important immunoregulatory functions. It is a potent activator of macrophages, it has antiproliferative effects on transformed cells and it can potentiate the antiviral and antitumor effects of the type I interferons.Interferon-gamma(IFN-γ) is a dimerized soluble cytokine that is the only member of the typeII class of interferons. This interferon was originally calledmacrophage-activating factor, a term now used to describe a larger family ofproteins to which IFN-γ belongs. In humans, the IFN-γ protein is encoded bythe IFNG gene. http://www.creative-diagnostics.com/Recombinant-Rat-Interferon-Gamma-a-a-135-Polypeptide-4257-427.htm
